Welcome to Michelle Ball Yoga
Connecting Mind and Body
Hello my name is Michelle Ball and I’m excited to share this blog with you. For me it’s a place to share our humanity. Although everyone’s life experiences are different, we all are connected. All humans desire happiness, love, and acceptance. My hopes are that this blog can help us see that we are not alone, but that we have a lot more in common than we think, despite différent beliefs and perspectives.
I will be sharing many topics ranging from mindfulness, breathing techniques, yoga poses/flows, and spirituality. I’m excited to share personal experiences with you, as well as many ideas and practices that have helped me to better achieve mindfulness and to be more present.
Mindfulness is simply being in the moment and accepting it as it is. Jon Kabat-Zinn defines it as »awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present-moment, non-judgementally.« There are many ways to achieve mindfulness and I hope to share those with you.
Breathing techniques have been life-changing for me. I was first introduced to it when going through my 200 hour yoga certification. I never knew these techniques could help to truly calm my nervous system and help increase relaxation, calm, and focus as well as providing physical benefits.
Yoga helps to connect mind and body. It gets us out of our heads and into our bodies resulting in getting us into the present moment. Yoga helps improve strength, balance, and flexibility while increasing calm and focus.
» Spirituality is not religion. It is a path for us to generate happiness, understanding, and love, so we an live deeply each moment of our life. » Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh
My hopes are that my posts can help you find peace, calm, and connection. I do believe that we are not alone in our lives and we all have shared experiences in both our joy and suffering. I hope to connect with you and create a sense of community with one another.
